Happy 2018! Every new year, you probably have had this question come up: What’s your New Year’s resolution?
Are you tired of thinking up or making a New Year’s Resolution? Maybe this is the year to try something different. Hey, here’s a thought. To keep with the ring of the thing, let’s look at what rhymes with resolution and try to come up with a new solution. Here we go:
MAKING A NEW YEAR’S…
ELUTION: (the process of extracting by washing with a solvent) There you go now. Something for those chemists out there.
VOLUTION: (a revolving motion) Good idea if you want to run through those doors that spin around and around. Sounds fun. Maybe it could be a new exercise program.
EXSPUITION: (the act of spitting) For all those baseball players out there. (Why do they show that on TV during a game???)
IMMUNITION: (a lessening or decrease) Ok, there’s one for those who still want to lose weight
CIRCUMLOCUTION: (an indirect way of expressing something) Sounds like one for spouses when asked “Does this make me look fat?”
ELOCUTION: (an expert manner of speaking with control of your voice and mannerisms) The referees for football games have this one down. They should pick another idea (probably not EXPUITION though).
Well, that’s a pretty good list to choose from.
Oh, wait one more…
LOVE-OLUTION: (the act of loving others with all your heart) That sounds like a Good one.
Happy New Year’s and here is to a beautiful and loving 2018! From The ForGiving House to yours!
